Albert J. Dempsey

Age 80, died peacefully surrounded by his family on Wednesday, July, 25, 2012 at Christiana Hospital.

He was a 1950 graduate of Salesianum High School, and 1954 graduate of Villanova University.

Albert was in the U.S. Army from 1955-1957 in the 3rd Armored Division in Germany.

He was employed by the DuPont Company with the International Dept. as an accountant for 39 years.

Albert was the son of the late Albert C. and Alice (Merrill) Dempsey. He was also preceded in death by his sister, Alice (Dempsey) Perry. He is survived by his wife, Carole Ann (Achenbach) Dempsey of 54 years of marriage; sons, Gerald F. Dempsey and his wife Michelle (Morgan) Dempsey, and Edward A. Dempsey and his wife Lisa Ann (March) Dempsey; daughter, Aimee C. (Dempsey) Neff and her husband Keith Neff. He is also survived by his sister, Elaine (Dempsey) Patterson; beloved grandchildren, Jessica, Megan, Shannon, Beau, Collin, and Connor; and several nieces and nephews.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend the Mass of Christian Burial at Church of the Holy Child, 2500 Naamans Rd., Wilmington, on Tuesday morning, July 31, 2012 at 10 a.m. Friends may call at Krienen-Griffith Funeral Home, 1400 Kirkwood Hwy., Elsmere from 6-8 pm on Monday evening. Interment in All Saints Cemetery.
