Albert "Bert" W. Littleton, Jr
Age 76, of Middletown, DE, passed away on Monday, April 3, 2023.
Bert was born September 21, 1946, to Albert W. Littleton, Sr & Norene (McCormick) in Baltimore, MD.
Bert was part of the William Penn High School 1965 graduating class in New Castle, DE. He enlisted in the United States Air Force in October 1965 and served until February 1969 where he was Honorable Discharged with the rank on Staff Sergeant (E-5). In 1970, he began his thirty-five and a half years in Law Enforcement when he graduated from Delaware State Police Academy as a member of the 2nd Municipal Training Class and then worked for: New Castle City Police Department 1970-1971 as a Patrol Officer, Delaware City Police Department 1971-1979 where he rose to the rank of Operations Sergeant, Delaware River and Bay Authority 1979-2006 where he retired as a Staff Sergeant. He received his associate's degree in criminal justice from Delaware Technical Community College, bachelor's degree in public administration from Neumann College, and he was also proud to have attended and graduated as a member of 178th session of the F.B.I. National Academy in Quantico, VA.
Bert was an automobile & motorcycle enthusiast, an avid firearm and law enforcement patch collector. He enjoyed watching and cheering for the Philadelphia Eagles, Flyers and Phillies. Traveling with family and friends to see near and far destinations, and just spending time with them talking and telling stories (boy, could he tell stories). Mostly, he loved riding his motorcycles over the years for fun and charities with the Blue Knights Delaware 1 with his many law enforcement brothers and sisters.
Bert is survived by his son, Albert "Bert", and his wife Audra, and their children, Annabelle (her fiancé Drew Burgoyne) and Shane. His daughter, Donna Reen, and husband Burton, and their children, Jeremiah, Angelina (Damien Papillo and great-grandson Carmine) and Veronica. His daughter, Dana Bozzo, and her children Michael (great-granddaughter Gianna) and Gina. His son, Storm McCall, and wife Vanessa, and their child, Storm Jr. His grandchildren, Alexis DeVincentis and Anthony DeVincentis. His best friend and brother-in-law, John McCall (Linda), his other best friend's family, Joan Finley and her children, Joie and Mike (Dana).
Bert is also survived and will be greatly missed by his loving companion, Carol Foster, Carol's mother and Bert's "Mom", Lois Clayton, Carol's daughter & son-in-law, Tracy and Marty Molloy, Carol's granddaughter's and Bert's "adopted granddaughters", Sara and Nora Molloy.
Bert was preceded in death by his parents Albert & Norene, his beloved wife of 37 years Beverly Ann (McCall) Littleton, his nephew, Morgan Littleton, his sister, Phyllis Littleton, son-in-law, Michael Bozzo, and his best friend and "brother" Edmund Finley.
At Bert's request, there will be no funeral or memorial service. Bert will be inurned at the Delaware Veterans Memorial Cemetery.
