Alfred H. Bader
Age 89, passed away on February 10, 2018 surrounded by his loving family.
Al was the patriarch of his family, oldest of seven children, and a man of great honor. He was drafted by the US Army in 1950 and served during the Korean War until 1952. Al was a lifetime resident of Wilmington, DE where he was a bricklayer in Local Union 1. He had an amazing sense of humor and charmed everyone he met. He enjoyed baseball especially the Philadelphia Phillies, spending time at the racetrack at Delaware Park, and Thanksgiving dinner. Most of all, Al loved spending time with his family. He had a heart of gold and would do anything for anyone in need.
He is preceded in death by his wife of 60 years Pauline Bader (McMillon); parents, Edward and Agnes Bader (Snyder); siblings, George Bader, W. Preston Bader, and Edward Bader; children, Patrick Kelly, Charles R. Bader, and John Bader; grandson, Kenneth Montgomery Jr.; sister-in-law Dolores "Sis" Bader; and brother-in-law, Michael O'Brien Sr.
Al is survived by his siblings, Jeannie O'Brien, Carl Bader, and Dorothy Mazik (Michael); his children, Alfred W. Bader, Laurie Montgomery (Kenneth), David Bader Sr. (Jacki), Daniel Bader (Christina); and daughters-in-law, Wendi Bader and Cheri Kelly; as well as nine grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend a Mass of Christian Burial at St. Catherine of Siena R.C. Church, 2503 Centerville Rd, Wilmington, DE on February 15, 2018 at 11 am. Friends may call at the church from 10-11 am. Interment to follow in the All Saints Cemetery.
