Anita R. Counterman

Age 67 of New Castle

Passed away peacefully on March 3, 2025.

Anita was born in Camden, New Jersey to the late James and Anna Fallstick. She was a proud 1975 graduate of Overbrook Regional Senior High School.

Anita worked for the West Berlin School District for over 40 years as a bus driver. When she and her husband moved to Delaware she continued her bus driving career with the Brandywine School district, retiring after 7 years of dedicated service.

Anita was a member of New Castle Methodist church for many years. She was a fan of the Mummers and was a talented chef. She was an animal lover and had a special place in her heart for all her pets throughout the years. But most of all Anita was known for her dedication to family. She was a devoted caregiver to her husband and children and will be dearly missed.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her son, Eric Fallstick; her grandson, Dylan Davis; and her brother and sister.

Anita leaves behind her husband of 26 years, Hoover Counterman; her children, Sherry Costenbader (James), Elizabeth Davis, and Jason Counterman (Lisa); her grandchildren, James Costenbader Jr, Tiffany Gould, Cheyenne Davis, and Gary "Trey" Davis III; her great grandchildren, Skylar Davis, Xander Davis, Colt Gould, and Riley Gould. She is also survived by her nephew, Dwayne Herbert and his wife Debra.

All services will be held privately.

In lieu of flowers the family asks contributions to be made in Anita's name to New Castle United Methodist Church, or any animal charity of your choosing.
