Ann Marie Antonio
Age 82, of New Castle, DE, passed away on August 31, 2009, peacefully at home surrounded by her loving family.
Born in New Castle, Delaware to George and Catherine Givens, Ann was a wonderful mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother who was an active member of her church community. She gave unselfishly of herself to her parish, St. Peter the Apostle Church of New Castle. Ann was a Eucharistic Minister and a member of various committees including Sodality, Work Force, and Social Concerns. Many were and continue to be inspired by Ann's lifelong devotion to Our Lady The Blessed Virgin Mary.
Ann retired from the Bank of Delaware where she had worked in Customer Service. Prior to raising her family she was an executive secretary at Trans World Airlines. She was a kind and gentle woman who always took the time to help her family, friends, and others, no matter their needs.
She was preceded in death by her husband Francis John "Hudson" Antonio to whom she was married for 45 years. Ann is survived by her six children: John Antonio and his wife Joyce, their children Bruno, Gabriel, Roman, Amanda, and Rose; Joseph Antonio and his wife Joanne, their children Dominic, Vincent, and Andrew; Ronald Antonio and his children Janice, Brian, and Laura; Deborah Thomas and her husband Dale, their twin daughters Kate and Sarah; Renee Kilroy, her husband Kevin and their daughter Alexa , Leigh Miller and her husband Robert, their children Robbie and Annie, her sister Catherine "Mitzie" Antonio, her brothers Joseph and James Givens and their families.
The family wishes to extend their heartfelt appreciation to those who provided such wonderful care to Ann during her illness.
Friends may call on Thursday, September 3, 2009 from 6-8 pm at Saint Peter the Apostle Catholic Church, New Castle, Delaware. A celebration of her life will be held on Friday, September 4, 2009 at 11 am. Burial will be in Saint Peter the Apostle Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Saint Vincent de Paul Society for the Poor, care of Saint Peter the Apostle Catholic Church.
