Obituary
Passed away peacefully on Friday, February 20, 2015.
Ann was born on December 21, 1918 in New Castle, DE, one of six children of the late Antonio (Gatti) Gotto and Marianna (DeFlaviis) Gotto. She married Anthony A. Jeffery and together they raised six children. Besides being the mother of six, Ann also worked full time. During her working career she was employed by Delaware Rayon and Celanese, was one of the Vice-Presidents of the DuPont Newport Site Credit Union, bookkeeper for her son Ron Ciafre and in her later years worked for her son, Ray Jeffery, as his office manager. Ann was a member of Club Internationale and was able to visit many countries, including her home town in Italy. She was an avid photographer documenting her many trips.
Ann was a people person. She had many friends and would always say she had been very "blessed" in her life. Ann often stopped to thank God for these blessings. Her greatest blessing was her loving family.
She was preceded in death by her siblings, Philomena, Francis, Rosie and Irene, her husband, Anthony Jeffery and her sons, Joseph Jeffery and Ron Ciafre (Jeffery). She is survived by her brother, Joe Gotto, her children and their spouses: Raymond and Madelyn Jeffery, John Ciafre and Catherine Hanson, Gloria and William Gail, Anne M. Jeffery and Deborah (Rzucidlo) Ciafre. She will be sadly missed by her grandchildren and their spouses: Tony and Gloria Jeffery, Bob and Stephanie Jeffery, Ronny Jeffery, Jr.,Nicholas J. Ciafre, Sonya and Larry Kendal, Sharon and Dave Gilgenast, Rodney and Shelly Ciafre, Randy Ciafre and fiancé, Suzette Ruff, Justina Ciafre Ritchie,David Gail, Jackie Gail and Cathy Boellaard, Jessica Gail, Justin Gail and fiancé Lauren Moulds, John Coyle and step-grandchildren, Angela Szewczuk and Larry and Christina Szewczuk. Ann is also survived by a plethora of great-grandchildren and great-great grandchildren and nieces and nephews.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend Mass of Christian Burial at St. Peter's Church, 5th &Harmony Streets in New Castle, DE on Friday, February 27, 2015 at 12:00 noon. Visitation will be held at the church from 11:00am – 12:00 noon.
Interment will be private.
In lieu of flowers the family suggests donations to St. Peter's Church, 5th & Harmony Streets, New Castle, DE 19720.
