Passed away peacefully on Thursday, April 28, 2016.
Ann was born to the late Paul F. and Helen M. (Burns) Sweeney. She was a dedicated employee of Wilmington Trust. She retired as assistant Vice President after 41 years of service.
She was an avid reader and follower of all sports. Ann derived her greatest joy from her family. She deeply cherished her time spent with her nieces and nephews, especially at Christmas time. Ann's joy radiated to all those around her.
She was preceded in death by her sister, Mary S. Lennon.
Ann will be dearly missed by her siblings, James (Barbara) Sweeney, of Wilmington, Catherine "Kit" (George) Nennstiehl, of Pocono Lake, PA, Eileen (Robert) Ristow, of Claymont, Gerri (Edward) Raymond, of Wilmington; her beloved cousin, Kathleen Reynolds; and her treasured nieces, nephews, grandnieces and grandnephews, and a great grandnephew.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend the Mass of Christian Burial at St. Elizabeth R.C. Church, 809 South Broom St., Wilm., DE 19805, on Tuesday, May 3, at 11:00 am. Friends may call at the church from 10:00-11:00am on Tuesday morning. Interment will be held in Cathedral Cemetery.
