Ann W Thatcher passed away peacefully on July 15, 2024 at home surrounded by her family at the age of 90.

Ann was born at her family's home in New Castle, DE on April 30, 1934 to Robert F. White and Helen McDevitt White. New Castle held a special place in Ann's heart as she was born and raised, met the love of her life, and raised her children in the city.

Ann was a loving, wife, mother, aunt, grandmother, and great-grandmother.

For over 30 years Ann could be found behind the teller counter at Wilmington Trust on Delaware Street diligently assisting the residents of New Castle. Ann was a devout Catholic and lifelong parishioner of St. Peter's the Apostle where she served as a eucharistic minister, offertory counter, and member of the environment committee. She enjoyed traveling with her family and friends, cheering on her Phillies, taking daily drives to the wharf, but her greatest joy was spending time at home with her family.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 69 years, William "Erve" Thatcher, and siblings Francis White, Robert Francis White, and Mary Alice Ryan.

She is survived by her children, Bill and Patti Thatcher, Bob and Holly Thatcher, Mike Thatcher; her grandchildren, Adam (Jess), Alex (Emma), Jenna (Matt), and Mary Ann; and great-grandson Will.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend a Mass of Christian Burial on Saturday, July 20 at 11:00 am at St. Peter the Apostle R.C. Church, 5th and Harmony Streets, New Castle, DE 19720. Friends may call at the church on Saturday, July from 10:00 to 11:00 am. Interment will take place in St. Peter the Apostle Church Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests contributing in Ann's memory to St. Peter the Apostle Church or Goodwill Fire Company, 401 South St, New Castle, DE 19720.
