Obituary

Anna M. (O'Hara) Handlin

Age 96, died February 21, 2011 surrounded by her loving family.

Ann was born on September 23, 1914 to the late Mary (Moyles) O'Hara of County Mayo, Ireland, and Patrick J. O'Hara of County Sligo, Ireland.

Ann was a very proud graduate of St. Paul's Parochial School in 1928 and St. Paul's Commercial in 1930. She retired in 1980 after a 50 year career as a Bookkeeper for various local businesses. Ann was very proud of her time early on with the Wilmington Dry Goods, then her four years during WWII working at the Wilmington Air Base and Fort Dix.

Mom most enjoyed time spent with family and friends and loved her special times with her grandchildren. Summer memories were filled from her vacations at the Erin Shores Motel in North Wildwood, NJ.

Ann was also preceded in death by her loving husband of 53 years, John E. Handlin, Sr.; her grandson, Sean Handlin; sisters, Mary Collings, and Peg Lockerman; brothers, John O'Hara, and Jim (Jake) O'Hara. She is survived by her son, John E. Handlin Jr.; daughter, Nancy Thomas (Bruce), son, Mike Handlin (Marian), son, Tom Handlin (Joanne), and daughter-in-law, Nancy Jo Handlin. She adored her 11 grandchildren, and had a very special love for her 12 great grandchildren. She is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews, whom she all loved.
