Anna B. Hickey
Age 101, died on Tuesday, January 29, 2013, at Kentmere Nursing Home.
Anna was a homemaker. She was a lifetime member of Claymont Fire Company Ladies Auxiliary, and in 1959, served as its President. She moved to Elsmere in 1981, and joined the Elsmere Senior Center, and took many trips with them.
She was the daughter of Charles Sipple and Lillian Poore. She was preceded in death by her husband, Joseph Hickey; her two sons, William C. Blanche and Thomas E. Blanche; her grandson, David Vassalotti; and her son-in-law, Wayne Vassalotti. She is survived by her daughter, Pam Vassalotti; her grandson, Michael Vassalotti; her granddaughters, Susan Stamm, Terri Hill, Karen Bush, Kathy Pappas; 10 great-grandchildren; and 5 great-great-grandchildren.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend the service at Krienen-Griffith Funeral Home, 1400 Kirkwood Hwy., Elsmere, on Mon., Feb. 4, at 10:30 am. Friends may call at the funeral home from 9:30-10:30 am on Monday morning. Burial will be private.
