Anna Marie Short
"Annie"

Age 69, died Monday, May 11, 2009 at Heartland Hospice House surrounded by her loving family.


Annie, the daughter of Salvatore and Philomena Granese was born in Bridgeport, PA on July 9, 1939. She attended Holy Savior Grade School and St. Patrick's High School in Bridgeport, before moving to Wilmington in 1963. Annie married her husband John Short in 1971.

Annie made many friends and acquaintances while working for Picociotti's, DeNardo's, The Niblick's, and Attilio's Restaurants. She was a member of Corpus Christi R.C.C. and her hobbies included crocheting and surfing the "web internet".

Annie is survived by her husband of 37 years, John Short; her sons, Randall Evans, Jr. and wife Janelle, Jack Short, Jr. and companion Pam; sister, Elizabeth Camburn and husband Robert; brother, Michael Granese and wife Carol; grandchildren, Brad, Eric, Rachel, and Sarah Evans; and nephews, Tom and Mike Granese and their families. She is also survived by her in-laws, Edith and Steve Cycyk, Bea Gamble, Marge and John Wilson, Shirley Schmid, Wilson and Clara Short, Myrtle Short; and a host of nieces and nephews.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend the Memorial Service at Krienen-Griffith Funeral Home, 1400 Kirkwood Hwy., Elsmere on Friday, May 15th at 7 p.m. Friends may call at the funeral home from 5:30 p.m. to 7 p.m. Friday evening. Interment is private.

The family would like to extend a sincere thank you to the caring staff of the Heartland Hospice House.
