Obituary

Anne Marie Majeski Auld (affectionately known by many as Murph and Gammy) departed this world on July 22, 2021, one day short of her 68th Birthday.

Anne Marie was born in 1953 to the late Jeff and Marie Majeski and was the forever precious baby sister to her brother, Michael. Anne Marie grew up in Chester Township, PA on Concord Road and later Glen Riddle. She spent many happy days following her big brother and making friends wherever she went.

Anne Marie began a love of roller skating at the Great Leopard Roller Rink in Chester, PA. This led them to the new rink in Elsmere, DE. There in 1966, Anne Marie would meet the owners' son, Phil. While neither knew it, it began a lifetime of love and partnership with many adventures, a few hardships, and an enduring relationship that few knew.

Son, John, and daughter, Jackie, added to the happiness, and she was so excited to be Mom. When granddaughter, Adrianna, arrived, she was on top of the moon as Gammy.

Anne Marie was a talented sewer and quilter and was a member of the Ladybug Quilt Guild and Friendship Quilters of Lithicum, MD, and locally a member of the Bee-Hind Bee Posse which included her dear friends Beth, Mary, Sue, Linda, Kathy and Dee. Quilting was a passion. Anne Marie had the talent to take an idea, and with scraps at hand, create not only an artistic inspiration, but a story built with these materials. To be given one of her creations was to be given the gift of love. It said, "I care about you, I love you." Anne Marie even had a Quilt displayed at Winterthur Museum during the American Quilt Exhibit.

Anne Marie's life was like a quilt. She never met a stranger. She took Phil's loud Italian/Irish family and found a way to sew them together along with her quiet Polish family. She took Phil's Parents, Aunts, Uncles, and Cousins and made them hers. Hunting pals, business friends, golfing buds, school families were sewed together with her quilting friends. Neighbors became lasting friends. John, Jackie and Adrianna's friends were all part of the family too. Always welcome, always well fed, and always loved.

When we step back and look at her life quilt, we see many pieces, many colors and many personalities. They shouldn't fit, but they do. Anne Marie stitched us together with Love. The strongest material ever made.
So tonight if you have one of her quilts, curl up under it and feel the love. Or just think of how much she loved seeing you smile or just saying hello. You will feel better.

Anne Marie is survived by her husband, Phil, of 48 years, very loved son, John Auld, and daughter Jackie Vicario.; adored and cherished granddaughter, Adrianna; best friends, brother, Mike, and his wife, Becky; sister-in-law (Sister in Truth), Florence and husband, Frank.

Thanks to all who touched her life.
