Arnold Krumins

Age 87 - Wilmington

Arnold Krumins passed away peacefully in his home on December 27, 2013. He was born February 9, 1926 in Riga, Latvia and served the U.S Army in Germany during World War II. He obtained U.S. citizenship December 1, 1981.

Arnold was a master carpenter who accepted nothing less than perfection in all he did. His extraordinary craftsmanship that excelled in self-employment led to many contractors seeking out his skills in carpentry. Arnold retired from DuPont after 21 years of service at the age of 75.

Arnold was preceded in death by his son, Arnold C. Krumins. He is survived by his wife, Astrid E.; daughter, Rosvita Ortez and husband Lou; daughter, Erika S. Mutter; and his son, David Krumins. He is also survived by 4 grandchildren, Louis A. Ortez Jr., Sandra L. Lawhorn and husband Chris, Samantha A. Rose and husband Mark, Daryl L. Mutter Jr.; four great-grandchildren, Paige, Skylar, Shane, and Ella; and his brother, Aldons Krumins of Jurmala, Latvia.

The family would like to extend their sincere gratitude to Seasons Hospice for their compassion and support in their time of need.

A Visitation will be held on Wednesday afternoon January 1, 2014 from 3-5 pm at Krienen-Griffith Funeral Home, 1400 Kirkwood Highway, Elsmere.

In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to Seasons Hospice/Christiana Hospital, 4755 Ogletown-Stanton Rd., 6th Floor, Newark, DE 19718.
