Audrey T. Cappalo

Of New Castle, died peacefully Friday, November 26, 2010 at Compassionate Care Hospice in Wilmington, Delaware.


Born May 9, 1927 in Preston, Maryland. She was married to her late husband Vincent J. Cappalo, Sr. on June 15, 1946 in Delaware. After his sudden death in December of 1969, Audrey went back to work and school and soon became a LPN for Christiana Hospital, where she worked until her retirement.


Audrey was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, sister and friend. She always put her family above all else and she will be missed dearly.


She was a lifelong member of Our Lady of Fatima Church.

Audrey enjoyed crocheting.

She was also preceded in death by her son Vincent J. Cappalo, Jr.
She is survived by her sons, Jeff Cappalo of Claymont, Delaware, and Chris Cappalo of New Castle, Delaware; grandaughter, Jennifer Biancucci and her husband Mark of Clarks Summit, PA.; grandsons, Jeremy Cappalo and his wife Jennifer of Norfolk, VA, and Adam Cappalo of Stanton, Delaware; her great-grandchildren Spencer, Ella and Max Biancucci of Clarks Summit, PA; a sister, Eunice Cable of Markleysburg, PA; a brother, Jacob Garvey of Goldsboro, Maryland; and her beloved nephew and niece, Charles and Linda Bosick of Newark, Delaware.

A special thank you to her dear friend Mary Ballance for her love and support over the last few years.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend the Mass of Christian Burial at Our Lady of Fatima Church, 801 N. DuPont Hwy., Wilmington Manor, New Castle on Friday, December 3rd at 10 a.m. Friends may call at the church from 9:30 a.m. to 10 a.m. on Friday morning. Interment in Cathedral Cemetery, Wilmington.
