Passed away peacefully on August 16, 2026.

Born on July 17, 1931 Barbara was the daughter of the late Walter and Alice Morris. She grew up in the Forty Acres area of Wilmington and attended St. Ann's and St. Elizbaeth's schools. Barbara remained active with her high school friends for many years.

Married at a young age she and her husband, Lee, raised their children in the Ashley Heights area. Barbara was a very active Mom and Grandmom.

She was known for her sense of style and love of life. She loved large family gatherings, especially summer crab feasts on the back porch. Barbara enjoyed traveling and cherished her many vacations to Turks and Caicos with her good friends.

She worked many years at United Electric and eventually retired from Benchmark Builders, where she worked in sales.

In addition to her parents, Barbara was preceded in death by her husband, Lee, and her daughter, Jackie, as well as her siblings, June, John and Walt.

She will be dearly missed by her children, Diane (Rick), Denise, Lee (Kathy), and Bob (Cammy) as well as 13 grandchildren, 18 great grandchildren, and 2 great great grandchildren. She was also the beloved aunt to numerous nieces and nephews.

With deep appreciation and gratitude for the professional, compassionate ad skilled care provided to Barbara over the past 7 years, the family requests in lieu of flowers that donations be made in Barbara's name to Gilpin Hall, Gilpinhall.org

Relatives and friends are invited to gather at Krienen-Griffith Funeral Home, 101 W. 6th St., New Castle, DE 19720, on Friday, August 21 from 11:00am-1:00pm to celebrate the life of Barbara. She will be interred at All Saints Cemetery privately.
