Barbara A. Lewis, age 70, passed away on April 1, 2016 at her home in New Castle, DE.

Barbara was the daughter of the late Norma M. and Joseph A. DiMondi. Born and raised in New Castle, Barbara attended Ursuline Academy and Wesley College and was employed at the law office of Fox Rothschild in Wilmington.

A skillful cook, Barbara above all things loved sharing her food with family and friends. She also enjoyed shopping, going to the beach, and spending time at the pool with friends and especially her grandson.

Barbara was preceded in death by her husband, Charles H. Lewis, Jr. She is survived by her partner of nearly three decades, Edward L. Hitchens; her son, Charles H. Lewis III and wife, Michele Mitchell, of Wilmington; her daughter, Jennifer Lewis and husband, Olivier Knox, and her beloved grandson, Oscar, all of Bethesda, MD; her brother, John A. DiMondi, and her sister, Denise Dorph, both of New Castle.

Relatives and friends are invited to a Service at Krienen-Griffith Funeral Home, 1400 Kirkwood Highway, Wilmington, on Saturday, April 9, at 1:00 pm. Visitation will take place at the funeral home from 11:30 am to 1:00 pm. Interment will be private.

Details of an event to celebrate Barbara's life will be announced at a later date.
