Benjamin (Benny) Haynie, 37 of Wilmington, passed away suddenly on March 23, 2020. Benny was born on October 24, 1982, son of Susan Cribb and Brian Haynie.

He is predeceased in death by his maternal grandparents, James and Euva Walbeck; uncle, Larry Walbeck; stepfather, Michael Cribb; aunt, Lynne Bower; cousin/best friend, Jeremy Walbeck and nephew Carson Haynie.

Benny is survived by his children, Christina Higginbotham, and Damien, Vincent and Nicholas Haynie; parents, Susan Cribb and Brian Haynie (Mary); paternal grandparents, G. Wallace and Johann Haynie; siblings, Cheree Mendoza, Keith Haynie (Sarah) and Arianna Purcell (Chris); step-siblings, Marisa Apps (Greg), Keith Temler (Lauren) and Joseph Temler (Courtney); three nieces, Kaylee, Khloe and Lylah; nephew, Bradley as well as many more family members and friends.

Benny will be remembered for his over the top personality and contagious laugh. He was one of a kind and there was never a dull moment when he was around. He always managed to be the center of attention in every room that he walked in, even if he drove you crazy, he was our crazy. He will be missed tremendously.

His motto was "be a better man than I was yesterday."

In light of the COVID-19 pandemic, a memorial service will be planned for a later date.
