Bernice M. Barnes, age 88, of Wilmington, DE passed away on January 2, 2019.

Bernice graduated from Wilmington High School, in 1949 and attended the University of Delaware. She worked for the Red Clay School District and Del-Tech Community College until her retirement. She loved to read and shop and enjoyed trips to the beach and going to the movies with friends.

Bernice was loved by all who knew her. She will truly be missed by many.

She is preceded in death by her daughter, Susan Wroten.

Bernice is survived by her three daughters, Cathy Lancaster (Tom), Linda Stevenson (Bill) and Anne Thomas (Rich); her son-in-law, Lee Wroten; grandchildren, Christina, Katie (Eric), Rickey, Matthew, Lee, Jr., Christopher (Arianna), Jason and Emily; great-grandchildren, Ciara, Xavier, Bradley and Easton; extended grandchildren, and great-grandchildren; her brother-in-law and sisters-in-law; as well as many beloved nieces and nephews.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend the Mass of Christian Burial on Tue., Jan. 8, 2019 at Corpus Chrisi R. C. Church 905 New Rd. Elsmere, DE 19805 at 12:00 PM. Friends may call at Krienen-Griffith Funeral Home, 1400 Kirkwood Funeral Home from 9:30 AM to 11:30 AM. Interment will be in Cathedral Cemetery.
