Betty Lou Pawlowski

Age 72, of Wilmington died Tuesday May 12, 2009 at Christiana Hospital surrounded by her loving family and her devoted friend, Irene Piazza

Betty grew up in the Holly Oak area and attended Mt. Pleasant High School.

She was personal secretary to Robert Witsil, Sr. at Witsil Realtors until she became a realtor herself. Many of her clients became personal friends.

Betty attended Community Fellowship Church in Brookland Terrace and enjoyed many years of singing in the choir. She was happy to be surrounded by family and friends at Christmas while she played Christmas carols on the organ. Her home is adorned with many ceramic pieces, evidence of her creativity. She was a dedicated mother and loving wife.

She is preceded in death by her brother, Robert L. Barnes, Sr. and his wife Jean and their son, Robert L. Barnes, Jr. Left to cherish her memory are her husband, Anthony, their daughter Lizabeth and her husband Steve and their children, Abigail Lee, Emma Kathryn and Mathias Anthony. She is also survived by her nieces, Linda Cleary and her fiance' Don Malizia, Patty McBride, Debbie Cunningham and her husband Steve, and Kathy Richards.

Friends may call at Krienen-Griffith Funeral Home, 1400 Kirkwood Hwy., Elsmere on Sunday afternoon, May 17th from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. Relatives and friends are invited to attend the Service at Gracelawn Memorial Park Chapel, DuPont Pwy., New Castle on Monday, May 18th at 11 a.m. Friends may also call at Gracelawn Memorial Park Chapel from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. on Monday morning. Interment in adjoining cemetery.
