Betty Ann Rodriguez
Age 82 of Wilmington
Passed away with her family by her side on January 4, 2024.
Betty was born in Charlestown, South Carolina to the late Joseph and Anna Beard. When she was living in Florida Betty met Juan Rodriguez. Juan quickly stole Betty's heart, and they were married in 1958. Together they shared 65 blessed years raising their family.
Betty had many jobs in her younger days including, working at a bomb making factory, a Kennett mushroom cannery, chef at a nursing home, and a supervisor at Star Cleaning Services. Betty was a talented cook and baker and loved to host all the holiday events. She had the biggest sweet tooth and was also exciting whenever someone brought her a pecan pie or a lemon meringue. To say Betty had a green thumb would be an understatement. She grew the most beautiful garden every year, her flowers being the envy of every neighbor. She was an animal lover through and through and always had at least one pet next to her. But Betty's most important calling was mother. She had a huge heart that she opened to everyone she every met. Her warm yet feisty personality was unlike any other. Betty was most known for her funny one liners and always positive attitude. Even in the face of many health conditions she always wanted to keep living her best, most active life.
Betty was preceded in death by her sons, Ricky and Francisco; her daughter, Mary Camp; her son-in-law, Victor LeBron; her dear sister, Rosemary; and favorite dog, Bobo.
Left to cherish her memory is her loving husband, Juan Rodriguez; her children, Maria Bedolla (Juan), Roberto Rodriguez (Laura), Barbara Ann LeBron, and Jaime Rodriguez (Charlene); her 14 grandchildren; 24 great grandchildren, and one great great grandchild. Betty is also survived by her brother, Barney Ray Beard, her loving nieces and nephews.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend the celebration of life service for Betty at Krienen-Griffith Funeral Home, 1400 Kirkwood Hwy., Wilm., DE 19805, on Friday Jan 12 at 12 noon. Friends may call at the funeral home from 11:00am-12:00pm. Interment will take place at Cathedral Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers the family asks contributions to be made in Betty's name to St. Paul's Church, 1010 W 4th St., Wilmington, or Faithful Friends Animal Society, 165 Airport Rd., New Castle, DE.
