Obituary

Bettyann "Liz" Paris

February 28, 1952 – May 15, 2023

Bettyann Paris, passed away peacefully on May 15, 2023. The only child of Betty and Joe Oboryshko, Bettyann lived in Wilmington, Delaware her entire life. Bettyann graduated from St. Elizabeth's High School and attended Goldey-Beacom College. She worked in banking as a customer service representative. Her last posting was at PNC Bank.

Bettyann loved her family, friends, pets, and all children. Her joy in life came principally from them. Bettyann enjoyed gardening, bird watching, and, along with her husband Jim, was an avid soccer fan. She did not like the name Betty, however, and so had her name legally changed to Bettyann some years ago.

A devoted mother and wife, Bettyann is survived by her son William Swiatek, her daughter-in-law Maria Alejandra and her grandchildren Maria and Sebastian all of Newark, Delaware, along with her loving and devoted husband of more than twenty years, James Paris of Wilmington, Delaware.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend the celebration of life service on Friday, May 19 at 11:00am at Krienen-Griffith Funeral Home, 1400 Kirkwood Hwy., Wilm., DE 19805. Friends may call at the funeral home from 10:00am-11:00am. Interment will take place at Gracelawn Memorial Park privately.
