Carol Lee Stanley
Age 71 of Middletown

Passed away peacefully with her family by her side on November 22, 2025.

Carol was born on February 11, 1954 to the late Leonard and Irene (Cloud) Edwards. She cherished her younger years growing up in Wilmington with her siblings, Joann Timmy Tina Vincent and Billy.

Carol was a dedicated nurse. She strived to be the steady hand of comfort to all her patients. She retired from State of Delaware Emily Bissell Hospital after 36 years of caring for others.

Carol was happiest when she was with her family. Simple times with everyone together always put the biggest smile on her face. She also especially enjoyed the trips to Florida she made with her husband, Van.

Carol leaves behind her doting husband, Vance E. Stanley; her loving children, Brandon Williams, John Branch, Bethy Stone, and Janelle Branch; her cherished grandchildren, Abby, April, Kayla, Brandon Jr., Jasper, Davon, and Brian Jr.; and her precious great grandchildren, Brandon, Isaiah, and Lilyanna. Carol will also be dearly missed by her siblings, Joann and Bill; her nieces and nephew, Katie, Amber and Michael; as well as many other members of her extended family.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend the Celebration of Life Services for Carol at Krienen-Griffith Funeral Home, 1400 Kirkwood Hwy., Wilm., DE 19805, on Saturday, Dec 6, 2025 at 12:00 noon. Friends may call at the funeral home from 11:00 am to 12:00 noon. Interment will take place privately.

In lieu of flowers the family asks contributions to be made in Carol's name to the SPCA of Delaware.
