Carolyn Warner Bennett
Age 79, of Wilmington, DE, formerly of Franklin, West Virginia, passed away on Monday, July 28, 2014.
Carolyn was a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother who loved being with family and friends. She was a resident of Faulkland Heights for over 57 years. She worked as a registered nurse with the State of Delaware, before retiring at Emily P. Bissell Hospital with over 30 years of dedicated service. Carolyn was a long time member of the Cedars United Methodist Church. She was also a dedicated member of the Elsmere Fire Company Ladies Auxiliary for 53 years.
Carolyn was the daughter of the late Mearlie and Royal Warner. She was also preceded in death by her husband of 54 years, Edward J. (Dick) Bennett and her brother, Carl Warner. Carolyn is survived by her son, Mark Bennett and his wife, Wanda; her granddaughter Erica; all of Chesterfield County, VA; her sister-in-laws, Ima Warner of Franklin, WV and Betty Seamans of Stanton, DE; special nieces and nephews; special friends, Ray and Maryellen Lyons, Laura Jordan, Bernice Wright; and her beloved poodle, Holly.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend the service at Krienen-Griffith Funeral Home, 1400 Kirkwood Hwy., Elsmere, on Saturday, August 2, at 11:00 am. Friends may call at Krienen-Griffith Funeral Home, on Friday, August 1, from 6:00pm-8:00pm. Interment will be private.
