Catherine M. Anderson
"Katie"
Age 89, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by her family on Sunday, February 26, 2012.
Katie was a lifelong homemaker. She worked at the New Castle Defense Plant, and also was a custodian with the Colonial School District for eleven years and retired in 1985.
She was a graduate of St. Peter's School in New Castle.
Katie was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother whose greatest joy was spending time with her family especially at the beach. She enjoyed cooking, game shows, and spent many happy hours doing word search puzzles.
Katie was the daughter of the late Anthony and Nellie (Lahovich) Kolodzieg. She was the wife of the late Frederick Anderson who died in 2000. She is also preceded in death by her granddaughter and namesake, Katie Anderson in 2000; and her brother, Stanley J. Kolodzieg. She is survived by her sons, Joseph (Pamela) Anderson, and Anthony A. (Carla) Anderson; her grandchildren, Joseph Jr., Michael, Anthony Jr., Gregory, Christiana, and Nicholas; her great grandchildren, Joseph III, Jacob, Michael Jr., Daija, Anthony III, Stephen, and Dylan.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend the service at Gracelawn Memorial Park Chapel, 2220 North DuPont Pkwy., New Castle, on Friday, March 2, 2012 at 11 a.m. Friends may call at Krienen Funeral Home, 34 West 6th St., New Castle Thursday evening from 6-8 p.m. Interment in adjoining cemetery.
