Obituary

Charles (Charlie) W. Phillips

Age 77, died peacefully at his home in Elsmere, DE, on May 11, 2011.
Charlie was retired from Chrysler. He was the neighborhood mechanic and handyman. There was nothing he wouldn't try to fix.

He served in the 1st Infantry Division "The Big Red 1" during the occupation in Germany after WWII. He was a proud member of UAW 1183.

Charlie loved playing, recording, and performing country music. He was always willing to lend his hands or his tools to anyone in need. He will be sadly missed.

He is survived by his daughter, Crystal A. Cullin and her husband James of New Castle; his brother, Donald Phillips and his wife Janet of New Castle; his grandchildren, Finn, Quinnie, and Zoe Cullin; and several nieces and nephews.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend the service at Gracelawn Memorial Park Chapel, Dupont Pkwy, New Castle on Monday, May 16, 2011 at 2 p.m. Friends may call at Gracelawn Memorial Park Chapel from 1 p.m. to 2 p.m. Interment in adjoining cemetery.

In lieu of flowers please make contributions to the Veterans Hospital, 1601 Kirkwood Hwy., Brack-Ex, Wilmington, DE 19805.
