C. Donald Robertson, age 89, of Wilmington, DE, passed away peacefully on March 29, 2026, surrounded by family.

Born on April 21, 1936, in Wilmington, Delaware, Donald was the son to the late Charles M. Robertson and Ruth F. (Buterbaugh) Robertson.

He graduated from H. Fletcher Brown Vocational High School, Wilmington, DE. And worked for Central TV & Appliance Company in Wilmington for many years as an appliance technician, he was always going to training classes to keep up with the latest technologies. He also worked many evenings and weekends with his side business remodeling kitchens, basements, bathrooms or whatever needed fixing.

He had a passion for fixing up old cars and trucks, he loved his old Ford Ranchero. He still has an old Chevy in his garage that did not quite get finished. And he loved to travel and spend time with family. Our father was a great provider; he was loved and will be greatly missed by all.

Donald is survived by his wife of 69 years Joan D. (Walker) Robertson and his five daughters Cindy L. Baudoin (Anthony) of Milton, DE, Donna L. Johnston (Mark) of Corvallis, MT, Denise L. Blackburn (Bud - deceased) of Middletown, DE, Francine A. Dowd (Kenneth) of Bear, DE and Suellen Lewandowski (Chris) of Bear, DE. He had 7 grandchildren KD Dowd (Rachel), Alex Dowd (Janelle), Jenice Schaffer (Casey), Lindsey Jones (Rhys), Michael Rash (Melanie), Brandon Smith (Cameron), and Adam Savage. Along with 16 great-grandchildren.

He is also survived by his siblings Gerald F., Kenneth M. (Caryn), Ruth Ann Cain and preceded in death by his sister Sandra J. Maust. And many nieces and nephews.

And we want to express special thanks to our dear friend, Nancy Schneiders, for all her help with our father, she treated him as if he was her own. We are eternally grateful for all her help and friendship; Dad loved her like his own.

A Celebration of Life will be held at Krienen-Griffith Funeral Home 1400 Kirkwood Hwy Elsmere, DE 19805 on Saturday April 25, 2026, at 11:00am. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Brandywine SPCA in honor of his beloved Shih Tzu Pi Bits.
