Age 82 of Wilmington
Passed away suddenly on December 15, 2014. He was born August 9, 1932 in Cranston Heights, Delaware to Alice E. Crossan Woodward and Charles F. Woodward Sr.
Woody graduated from Henry C. Conrad in 1949 where he met his wife of 62 years, Phyllis B. LeKates Woodward. He graduated from Goldey Beacom Business College and went on to work for the DuPont Company at the Edgemoor Plant for 35 years. Woody also worked many years at various Horse Raceways and served in the Air Force Reserve for 6 years.
He is survived by his wife, Phyllis; his children Deborah Ann McNesby (Jerry), Charles F. Woodward III (Cheryl), Lynda Woodward and Cynthia Lee Parisi (Tommy); his grandchildren, Melissa Davis, Kristen McNesby, Charles F. Woodward IV (Jess), Michael McNesby and Jennifer Clarke (Kevin); and his great grandchildren, Kaelyn and Makenzie.
The family would like to thank the nurses at Christiana Hospital for all their care and compassion, and listening to all his stories. He'll have a new audience to entertain now.
Viewing will be held on Friday, December 19, 2014 at Krienen-Griffith Funeral Home, 1400 Kirkwood Highway, Elsmere, DE where friends are invited to call between 6-8pm. Interment will be private. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Elsmere Fire Company at 1107 Kirkwood Hwy, Elsmere, DE 19805.
