Clayton D. Wilson
Age 85, of New Castle, DE, passed away peacefully on September 25, 2010 surrounded by his loving wife of 61 years, Marie E. Wilson and his family.
Born in Georgetown, DE, the son of the late Charles A. and Mangie Ellen Wilson. He is survived by his son, James C. Wilson and his wife Lee of Wilmington, DE; his son, Charles J. Wilson and his wife Barbara; and his step-son Eugene White and his wife Diane. In addition to his wife and sons, he is survived by many grandchildren including Shannon DeLucia and Jason Maguire; many great-grandchildren including Colin, Liam, Ashlin, and Aidan DeLucia, and Amelia and Garrett Maguire; his devoted son-in-law Mick Maguire; and his brother Donald Wilson. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, and other family members.
Clayton's daughter, Donna Maguire, preceded him in death on March 3, 2010. In addition to his daughter, he is preceded in death by his sister Marie Cleaves and his brothers Thomas, Robert, and James Wilson.
Clayton served proudly in the U.S. Marine Corps. He was a loyal member of the Teamster Local 326 and retired after 37 years of service. He enjoyed his family more than anything and was best known for his love of cooking, avid reading and spending time with his dog, Poncho.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend a Memorial Service at St. Peter R. C. Church Chapel, 5th & Harmony Sts., New Castle, DE on Thursday morning, September 30, 2010 at 11am. Family and friends are invited to call at Krienen Funeral Home, 34 West 6th St., New Castle, on Wednesday evening, September 29, 2010, from 6 to 8 pm. Interment in adjoining cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests contributions may be made to the Helen F. Graham Cancer Center attention Special Needs Fund, 4701 Ogletown-Stanton Rd., Newark, DE 19713.
