Connie Roberts, of New Castle, Delaware, age 73, a dedicated and loving mother, grandmother, daughter, sister, cousin, aunt, friend, and neighbor, left her earthly body to join our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, on June 24, 2026.
Connie was born in November 1952 to William and Mary Roberts. Connie traveled and lived all over the world as a military brat, including Spain, France and Morocco. Connie was a woman of extraordinary strength and determination who fiercely protected and single-handedly raised her three children while working and attending night classes at the former Wilmington College. She raised her children to have integrity, grit, and a love of God.
Connie was thoughtful and selfless to all, funny, eccentric in the most endearing ways, and could strike up a conversation with anyone. She was beautiful inside and out. Everyone she met felt as if they had known her forever. She had exquisite taste and class beyond measure. Connie was an excellent cook and even developed and wrote her own recipes, a gift for which her family is forever grateful.
Throughout her professional life, Connie was a dedicated worker and talented entrepreneur. She worked for Delaware Brick Company in accounting, B. Gary Scott as a realtor, and later achieved her goal of forming her own company, Appraisal & Consultant Services, LLC, and worked successfully as an independent home appraiser before retiring from New Castle County Government as a property tax assessor in the Land Use Department after almost 20 years.
Connie was preceded in death by her father William, and her mother Mary; fiance' Joseph; cousin Joanne; sister Kelly; great-granddaughter Cora; and stepdaughter Lisa.
Left to cherish her memory are her children, David Roberts (Patrina) of Illinois, Jennifer Lano (David) of Delaware, and Amy Martin (Carl) of Delaware. A great comfort and wish granted in her lifetime was that her children found the most loving spouses, who all adored her, and she adored them in kind, and through the hand of God, that wish was granted.
Connie will be lovingly remembered by her brother, Scott Roberts (Susan), and her sisters Amy and Betty. She is also survived by her adored grandchildren Shelby, Alex, Adriana, Caitlyn (Ryan), and Michael; great-grandchildren William and Baby G.; her beloved cousins Gino Jamison (Beverly), and Debra Short (Michael); bonus daughter Audrey Hibbitts; best and dearest of friends Pattie Sarver, Lucille Bowles, Tamera Piectrazak, and Linda Mutter; step-father Dean Stevenson of Florida; her beloved Yorkie, Josie; and, a host of dearly loved nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family, co-workers, and friends.
The family is especially grateful for her dedicated care team: Debra, Pattie, Audrey, and Carl, whom she affectionately called Carlos.
Visitation will be held from 11:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. on Thursday, July 2, 2026, at Krienen-Griffith Funeral Home, located at 1400 Kirkwood Highway, Wilmington, DE. A funeral service to celebrate Connie's will immediately follow at 12:00 p. m. at the funeral home. Private burial will follow funeral service.
Dearest Mother, you were the salt of the earth, bringing light to everyone who knew and loved you. You will forever be the wind beneath our wings.
In lieu of flowers the family asks contributions to be made in Connie's name to the Patient Assistance Fund ChristianaCare, PO Box 1668, Wilmington, DE 19899
