Corey Patrick Merrill age 27 of Wilmington, passed away on July 13, 2021.

Corey worked as a stylist at Hair Cuttery and most recently piercing Pagoda at Christiana Mall. He was a proud licensed stylist and cosmetologist from the School of Schilling Douglas Hair Design.

Corey was an avid shopper and was known to like the finer things in life. He was a huge movie buff and was always up to date with the latest in the world of entertainment. Corey greatly enjoyed the outdoors. Some of his happiest times were spent with his friends going on adventures. He enjoyed 4-wheeling, tubing, jet skiing, and camping in the Poconos. Corey loved listening to music and would often burst into song. He was full of life and love. His huge heart and loving nature will be dearly missed by all who knew him.

He was preceded in death by his grandfathers, Charles Barrett and George H. Merrill, Jr, and his step-grandfather, James Rowe.

Corey is survived by his mother, Lee Ann (Barrett) Merrill; his father, George H. Merrill III (Cara Lightfoot Merrill); his siblings, Lisa M. Gulla (Nick) and Bryan Merrill; his stepbrother, Evan Lightfoot; and both his grandmothers, Maryann Barrett and Judy Merrill. He is also survived by his nephews, Logan and Dylan Gulla, as well as a host of cousins, aunts, uncles, and friends.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend a viewing for Corey on Tuesday, July 20 from 4:30pm-7:00pm at Krienen-Griffith Funeral Home, 1400 Kirkwood Hwy., Wilm., DE 19805. A celebration of life service will begin at 7:00pm at the funeral home. Interment will be private.
