Daniel R. Plumley, Sr. Age 70 of New Castle

Passed away peacefully on Thursday, June 13, 2024.

Danny was born in New Castle, Delaware to the late Davis and Dorothy Ann Plumley. He was a proud 1971 graduate of William Penn High School. After graduation Danny went to work for Delmarva Power retiring after 30 plus years of dedicated service.

He was an avid fan of the Phillies and Eagles. Danny loved trips to Sea Isle City and Myrtle Beach. You could always find him sitting out front of the barber shop in Old New Castle engaging and welcoming clientele for his dear friend Julio. He enjoyed taking rides to the wharf and watching the geese. Dan always cherished times fishing with friends and family. He will be dearly missed by all who knew him.

In addition to his parents, Danny was preceded in death by his son, Daniel R. Plumley, Jr, and his brothers, Joseph Cooper and David Plumley, and cousin James Thomas.

He is survived by his daughter, Lisa Ruth (Walt); his son, Christopher Plumley; and his grandchildren, Gianna, Amoni, Ayden, Quinten, Addisyn, and Paxton; his sister, Dorothy Ann Harrison( Frank); his cousin, Ronnie McCafferty; his caregiver and daughter in law, Jodi Ferraioli.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend the celebration of life service on Tuesday, Jun 25 at 12:00 noon at Krienen-Griffith Funeral Home, 101 W. 6th St., New Castle, DE 19720. Friends may call at the funeral home from 11:00am-12noon. Interment will be private.

In lieu of flowers the family ask contributions to be made in Danny's name to Faithful Friends Animal Society, 165 Airport Rd, New Castle, DE 19720.
