David E. Tressler

Age 46, of Newark, DE, died unexpectedly on Tuesday September 28, 2010. David was employed as a machinist at Amtrak. He previously worked for many years as a gifted Auto Mechanic.

The world is less one kind gentle soul. David had many talents and willingly shared them with everyone. His life was driven by an incredibly strong work ethic, a devotion to his family, and a dedication to his friends. His greatest joy was spending time with his family. His happiest times were with his family in the mountains, at the beach, camping, fishing, and attending Jonathan's baseball games. He also enjoyed hunting and NASCAR.

David is survived by his best friend of 29 years, his loving wife, Teresa, and his beloved children, Jonathan and Hannah. He will be greatly missed by in-laws Vincent and Sylvie Giofre, Joe Giofre and fiancé Melissa Haver, John and Kate Corigliano, goddaughter Sophia Corigliano, parents George and Bernadette Tressler, brother George Tressler, sister Mary Beth Payne, nieces Jennifer and Julia and nephew George.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend the Mass of Christian Burial at Corpus Christi R.C. Church, 901 New Rd., Elsmere on Saturday October 2, at 11 am. Friends may call at the church from 9-11 am Saturday. Interment is private. In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to the David Tressler Memorial Fund, c/o Artisans Bank, 1124 Pulaski Hwy., Bear, DE 19701.
