Deborah Murphy Sloan
Age 53, of Wilmington, DE, passed away peacefully on Sun., Sept. 8, 2013.
Debbie was born in Wilmington on Jan. 14, 1960 to Thomas and Catherine Murphy. She worked in the medical field for over 25 years, where she developed many wonderful relationships with co-workers and patients.
She was very proud of her Irish heritage. She loved the New England Patriots and Boston Red Sox. She was a three year cancer survivor. She was a wonderful wife, mother, and grandmother. She was the glue that held the family together.
Debbie is survived by her forever loving husband and best friend of 30 years, William Sloan; her son, Ryan, and his wife Lisa, and their children, Shane and Brandt, who brought her so much joy; her daughters, Jennifer and fiancé, Chris Gipe, and Jaimie Sloan; her parents, Thomas and Catherine Murphy; her husband's parents, Joan and Jim Hicks; her brother, Thomas Murphy, III and his wife, Elena, and their children, Thomas and Patrick; her sister, Denise Quill, and her husband, Leonard, and their children, Erin, Leonard, and Brendan; her brother, Kevin Murphy, and his wife, Kelly, and their children Connor and Emily; and her brother-in-law, John Sloan. Debbie was preceded in death by her nephew, Colin Murphy Quill.
Relatives and friends are invited to the Mass of Christian Burial on Thurs., Sept. 12, at 10:30 am at St. Joseph on the Brandywine R.C. Church, Wilmington. Interment will be private.
