Donald D. Celli Died September 20, 2024 in Melbourne, FL
Born in New Castle, Delaware on August 21, 1938 to the late Lou "King" Celli and Regina Jeffery Celli. He was a 1956 graduate of St. Peter's High School and served eight years in the 287th Army Band of the Delaware Army National guard. Don worked as a Lab Technician and retired from Lyondell Basell , formerly Hercules Inc.
In his early years, he was a local musician playing in rock and concert bands in the tri-state area. In addition to his parents, Don was preceded in death by four sisters, five brothers, and his eldest grandson. He is survived by three daughters, Margaret Celli, Sharon Celli, and Teresa Loeb, one sister Marie Medora, one brother Joseph Celli, five grandchildren, ten great grandchildren, and one great-great grandchild.
Don will be remembered for his more than 37 years of service as a lay Catechist for eighth grade Confirmation and the RCIA at his former parish, Corpus Christi in Elsmere.
There will be a visitation from 11-12 pm followed by Mass of Christian Burial on October 25, 2024 at St. Peter the Apostle Catholic Church, 5th and Harmony Streets, New Castle Delaware 19720. Burial to follow at All Saints Cemetery.
