Donald DeBonis Jr., born June 14, 1956, passed away peacefully on October 24, 2021.
Don was born in Wilmington, Delaware to the late Donald, Sr. and Marian DeBonis.
Following high school he worked as a parts salesman and mechanic for 27 years. He enjoyed classic cars, building, fixing, and in younger years, racing them.
For the past 20 years, he was a custodian for Del Castle. Vo-tech High School where he enjoyed his job.
Don or Donnie, as he was known, loved to play guitar, he played all his life. He also liked video gaming with his grandkids and loved rides through the country, fishing, and loved to take his grandchildren, nieces and nephews along with him wherever he went. He was one of a kind and will be deeply missed.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister, Shirley Grabowski.
He is survived by his son, Donald DeBonis and daughter, Angela DeBonis; his brother, Nicholas (Lorraine); brother-in-law, Mike Grabowski. He is also survived by seven grandchildren, Andy DeBonis, Kaitlin DeBonis, Ashley DeBonis, Isaiah DeBonis, Kaylah Allison, Charles Allison, and Mikey DeBonis. And one great grandchild, Mylani DeBonis. Nieces and nephews, Crystal Potter, Nicole DeBonis, Anthony DeBonis, Calvin Potter, Kevin Potter, Khloe DeBonis, Michael Grabowski; and great-nephew, Austin, who all loved him, and will miss him dearly...
Relatives and friends are invited to attend a service for Don on Monday, November 1, 2021, at Krienen-Griffith Funeral Home at 11:00 am. A visitation will be held at the funeral home from 10-11. Interment will be in Gracelawn Memorial Park, following the service.
