Obituary
Donna Marie Cannon, age 46, of Trolley Square, Wilmington, DE, passed away suddenly on June 21, 2012 at Christiana Care surrounded by her family.
Born in Wilmington on September 16, 1965, Donna is survived by her parents Wallace L. Cannon III, a native of Old New Castle, and Rosemarie Nacchia Cannon, a native of Forty Acres, and her brother Jeffrey L. Cannon and sister-in-law Gretchen Cannon, presently of Tucson, AZ. Donna was preceded in death by her grandparents Wallace L. Cannon Jr. and Marie Gregg Cannon in addition to Virgil J. Nacchia and Carmella Vassalotti Nacchia.
Donna attended St. Mary Magdalen grade school and went on to graduate from Padua Academy and Immaculatta College in 1983 and 1987 respectively. Donna enjoyed a 25 year career in the local banking industry developing many friends and memories while serving for institutions to include JP Morgan and Wilmington Trust.
Donna was very active and musically inclined in high school and college entertaining family and classmates with her singing and acting. After graduating college, several of Donna's family and friends were married to the sound of Donna's solo singing. Donna enjoyed decades of laughs and memories along with the Cannon and Nacchia families who are also long time residents of Dewey Beach, DE. As one of 43 grandchildren, Donna cherished her relationships with her cousins, aunts and uncles. Donna was a proud and devoted aunt to her niece Peyton Elizabeth Cannon, and nephews Kyle Matthew and Chase Robert Cannon.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend the Mass of Christian Burial at St. Peter the Apostle Church, 5th and Harmony Sts., New Castle, on Tuesday, June 26, 2012 at 12:00 noon. Friends may call at the St. Peter the Apostle Church Tuesday morning from 9:30 a.m. to 12:00 noon. Interment will be private.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Trauma Program at Christiana Care, 4755 Ogletown-Stanton Rd., Newark, DE 19718, and St. Peter the Apostle's Church, 521 Harmony St., New Castle, DE 19720.
