Donna M. Maguire
Age 58, of New Castle, DE, passed away suddenly on March 3, 2010 surrounded by her loving family.
Born in Wilmington, Donna was the daughter of Marie and Clayton Wilson. She was a graduate of the University of Delaware and earned her Master's Degree from Neumann University. With degrees in elementary education, her passion was teaching 5th through 8th grade children in the Catholic Diocese of Wilmington where she worked happily for 37 years. Most recently, she was teaching students at St. Matthew's School and Confirmation classes at St. Peter's in New Castle. A life-long member of St. Peter's Church in New Castle, Donna served as a Eucharistic Minister, a Diocesan Advocate, a member of the Blessed Virgin Mary Sodality and participated in other church activities. Donna enjoyed spending time with her family and friends and was best known for her devotion to her faith, her determined and ornery spirit, and her kind and loving heart.
She is survived by her husband Edward "Mick" Maguire of 38 years. In addition to her husband, she will be missed by her daughter Shannon Maguire DeLucia and her husband Kevin of Hockessin, DE; and her son Jason E. Maguire and his wife Lauren of Middletown, DE; 6 grandchildren, Colin, Liam, Ashlin, and Aidan DeLucia and Amelia and Garrett Maguire; two brothers, James Wilson and his wife Lee of Wilmington and Eugene White of Bear, DE; and numerous other family members. She is also survived by a circle of many beloved friends.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend the Mass of Christian Burial at St. Peter R. C. Church, 5th & Harmony Sts., New Castle on Monday, March 8th at 11 a.m. Friends may call at the church Sunday evening March 7th from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. Interment in adjoining cemetery.
