Doris J. Campbell
Age 87, died peacefully at Wilmington Hospital on Thursday, January 16, 2014. Doris was born in Wilmington, DE on December 6, 1926.
She attended Wilmington High School.
During WWII, she worked at Dravo Ship Building in Wilmington. She also worked and retired with the Wilmington Public School System.
Doris was an active member of Mt. Salem Methodist Church, enjoying participation in the choir for many years.
One of eight children she was married to Joseph W. Campbell, Sr. for 32 years, who preceded her in death. She is survived by her sister, Eluria; her sons, Joseph W., Jr. and his wife Susan, Roger and his wife Susan, and David; her daughters, Nancy and Deborah; 3 grandchildren; and 2 great grandchildren.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend the service at Mt. Salem Methodist Church, 2629 West 19th St., Wilmington, on Monday, January 20, 2014 at 11 am. Friends may call at the church from 10-11 am Monday morning. Interment in Silverbrook Cemetery, Wilmington.
