Obituary

Passed away peacefully on November 18, 2014 with her loving family by her side.
Born in Philadelphia, PA on October 20, 1924, Doris was the daughter of the late Ralph and Mae Moffitt.
Doris was an employee of Colonial School District and retired after twenty-five years of dedicated service. She was an extremely loving, caring and giving person. She was devoted to her family, especially her son, Ricky. Doris enjoyed the simpler things in life, like caring for her home, working in the garden, Saturday trips to Booths Corner with her son-in-law Ken, and especially going to Perry Anthony salon to have her hair and nails done. The family has wonderful memories of celebrating her 90th birthday.
She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Richard; her brother, Ralph Moffitt; and grandson-in-law, Brad Benedetto.
Doris is survived by her son, Ricky, who she lovingly cared for; her daughters, Mary Delaney (Ken) and Nancy Williams (Michael); her grandchildren, Jennifer McFarland (Dan), Heather Bright (Anthony), Christina Walker (Jason), Ashley Delaney, and Lauren Benedetto, Kenny Delaney (Jenn); and her great-grandchildren, who were her world.
The family wishes to thank the staff at Cadia Rehab and the staff of 6A and Seasons Hospice at Christiana Hospital for their loving care.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend the funeral service at Gracelawn Memorial Park Chapel on Fri., Nov 21, 2014 at 11:00 am. Friends may call at Gracelawn Memorial Chapel from 10:00-11:00 am. Interment will be held in Gracelawn Memorial Park.
