Ercolano (Earl) F. Trincia Jr., 84, passed away at his home in Smyrna, DE in the loving arms of his family on Wednesday, November 9, 2011.
Earl was born on June 22, 1927 to the late Ercolano (Earl) F. Trincia, Sr. and Jennie Martone Trincia, and was raised in Wilmington, DE. He worked in his family business, Earl's Dairy, during and after his school years, and after he served in the U.S. Army Infantry in WW II before receiving an Honorable Discharge in 1946.
Following the sale of the family business in 1956 Earl became a master carpenter and went on to own and operate his own home contracting business until he retired to Lewes, DE in 1995, and later to Smyrna in 2005. He was a member of American Legion Post 28 in Millsboro, DE. Earl enjoyed boating and was an avid fisherman, hunter and sports enthusiast. He was also a lifelong Phillies and Eagles fan. He enjoyed building furniture and took tremendous pride in his custom woodwork. Earl especially enjoyed spending time with his family and friends.
Earl was preceded in death by his brothers John A, Francis L and Louis Trincia; his sisters Pasquina Castiglioni and Lucy J. Benicky, and his grand daughter Sarah. He is survived by his loving wife of 51 years, Ruth Gamble Trincia, and his four sons, Richard L. (Julie), Carl F. (Linda), Michael R. (Eleanor), and Nicholas F. He is also survived by his brothers Lawrence D., Sr., Richard L., Sr, and sisters Jacqueline Zieber and Joanna Janowski; nine grand children -John R. (Nancy), Julie A., Carla B. (David), Michelle C., Earl F., Michael R., Jr. (Carol), Nick, Joseph, Shara (Charles), David (Lauren), and Stephanie (Tim); and 12 great-grand children: Mary Jean, Alisha, Ashley, Samantha, Isabella, Logan, Domenic, Emma, Bentley, Cheyenne, Isabella and James Edward.
Friends and Family are invited to attend a viewing on Tuesday 11/15/11 between 6-8 pm at the Krienen-Griffith Funeral Home, 1400 Kirkwood Hwy, (Elsmere) Wilmington, DE 19805. A Mass of Christian Burial is scheduled on Wednesday, 11/16/11 at 10:30 am at St. Joseph-on-the-Brandywine RC Church, Wilmington, DE with interment to follow at 1pm at the Delaware Veterans Memorial Cemetery, 2465 Chesapeake City Road, Bear, DE 19701.
