Obituary

Edwin Joseph Vogelsong

Age 83, died peacefully surrounded by his family on February 18, 2010 at Brandywine Nursing Home.

Ed retired in 1990 after 37 years as a carpenter.

He was a USMC Veteran of WWII.

He was a member of Corpus Christi R. C. Church and also a member of their choir. Ed volunteered and helped for many years the Sisters of St. Francis.

Ed was a devoted husband, father, and grandfather.

He was an accomplished saxophone player. Ed had a great love of jazz and attended many jazz festivals especially in Cape May, NJ.

Ed was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Leona (Curren) Vogelsong in 1984. He is survived by his children, Bernadette Conomon and her husband Robert, Michael Vogelsong, Michelle Gilday and her husband Michael, Mark P. Vogelsong and his friend Kim, Judy V. Porter, Paula Vogelsong and her friend John; sisters, Jane Mason, Claire Dodd, Alice Vogelsong; grandchildren, Shaun, Keith, David, Justin, Nicole, Mark, Chelsea, Jacquelyn, and Shade; great grandsons, Kobe and Jayden.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend the Mass of Christian Burial at Corpus Christi R. C. Church, 901 New Rd., Elsmere on Monday, February 22, 2010 at 10 a.m. Friends may call at Krienen-Griffith Funeral Home, 1400 Kirkwood Hwy., Elsmere on Sunday afternoon February 21st from 3 to 5 p.m. Interment in Cathedral Cemetery, Wilmington.

In lieu of flowers please make contributions to Corpus Christi Tuition Assistance Fund, 901 New Rd., Wilmington, DE 19805.
