Elaine Joan Kucharski passed away on Friday, July 16, 2021.

Elaine was born in Wilmington, Delaware to the late William and Virginia (Jones) McKinley and was a 1971 graduate of Padua Academy. Following high school, Elaine attended Goldey Beacom college. She worked for over 25 years as a unit clerk for Christiana Care, splitting her time between the Delaware Division and Christiana Hospital.

Elaine was an avid photographer. The portraits she has taken of horses at Delaware Park and other area racetracks were well known by the jockeys, trainers and breeders. She was also a devout baseball fan, with her favorite team of course being the Phillies, along with her favorite starting pitcher, Aaron Nola.

She carried that same enthusiasm to the little league field, cheering on her grandson, Brayden. Ever the proud grandmother, she would not miss a chance to capture his accomplishments on and off the field.

Elaine had a quick wit and a spirited sense of humor. Fittingly she was a fan of sit-coms with "Seinfeld" being her favorite.

In addition to her parents, Elaine was preceded in death by her sister, Kathleen McKinley; in-laws, Leon Kucharski, Sr. , Lois A. Kucharski and Jean Kucharski.

She is survived by her husband, Leon, Jr.; sons, Matthew and Kyle; and grandson, Brayden.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend the Mass of Christian Burial on Friday, July 23 at 12:00 pm at St. Matthew R.C. Church, 901 E. Newport Pike, Wilmington, DE 19804. Friends may call at the church from 10-11:30 am. Interment will be in All Saints Cemetery.
