Elanor Frances Martin, 83, of Wilmington, DE formerly of Allentown, PA, passed away unexpectedly on Sunday, March 2nd, 2025, leaving behind a legacy of love, compassion, and dedication that will be cherished by all who knew her.

Born on April 27, 1941, in Allentown, PA, Elanor was the beloved daughter of Robert Harrison Danner and Frances Elanor Kleintop. She graduated from Emmaus High School in Emmaus, PA, in 1969, before pursuing her passion for nursing at what is now the Reading Hospital School of Health Sciences.

Elanor's nurturing spirit extended far beyond her 40-year career as a Registered Nurse. As a nurse and nursing educator, Elanor was a beacon of wisdom and compassion. Her colleagues and students benefited immensely from her vast experience and kind-hearted approach to healthcare. Her family often turned to her for guidance, cherishing her as their voice of reason and source of comfort.

She was a devoted mother to Lee Martin and Troy Martin (deceased) and was a "Boy Mom" before the term became popular. Elanor dedicated her time outside of work to her sons' activities, embodying the perfect balance of a working mother and a nurturing parent. Her strength and determination in raising two wonderful sons while pursuing a demanding career in nursing was an inspiration to all who knew her.

Elanor's zest for life was evident in her many passions. She found joy in bird watching, cheering for the Phillies, and hunting for antiques. Her love for collecting dolls and her fondness for dachshunds over the years showcased her gentle and caring nature.

For 30 wonderful years, Elanor shared her life with her beloved partner, Walter Bartheld until his passing in 2021. Their enduring love story was an inspiration to all who witnessed it, and Elanor carried Walter in her heart every day since his departure.

Elanor Frances Martin was deeply loved and will be forever missed. Her unexpected passing leaves a void in the hearts of her family and friends. Her legacy of love, resilience, and selflessness that will continue to inspire all who were fortunate enough to know her.

Elanor leaves behind her brothers Robert Danner, Roger Smith, and sister Amelia Smith. She was a doting grandmother to Scott, Nicholas, and Grace Martin (children of Lee); Jessica and Matthew Martin (children of Troy); and her great grandchildren Sawyer and Conrad (children of Scott Martin). Her family will forever treasure the memories of her unwavering love and support.
