Ernest V. Goldner
Age 100 – Wilmington
Passed away peacefully at home on Wednesday, July 26, 2017.
Ernie founded and managed Wyman Home Improvement Company for 50 years and officially retired at the age of 90. He was a very active member of the Greenhill Lions Club for over 60 years, where he served as both President and Treasurer. He was the recipient of the Melvin Jones Fellowship award and the Ralph Helms award. Ernie also volunteered at Emmanuel Dining Room. Each day started with completing the daily crossword puzzle, Soduko, and cryptogram.
He was the son of the George and Miriam (Walker) Goldner. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Gertrude (Keen) Goldner, his son, Gary, his daughter, Diana, his granddaughter, Tracy, his brother, George, and his three sisters, Florence, Virginia, and Betty.
Ernie is survived by his wife of 28 years, Catherine R. Goldner; his children, Jeffrey Goldner, Barbara Colatriano (William), Philip Brown, Marie Greloch, Michelle Fidance (Anthony), Margaret Reilly (Michael), and Charles Reeve; his brother, Robert Goldner (Arlene); 17 grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
The family especially thanks Dr. Felzer, Joan Nagowski, and Phil Brown for their care of Ernie.
Relatives and friends are invited to the Mass of Christian Burial on Tuesday, August 1, at 1:00 pm at St. John the Beloved R.C. Church, 907 Milltown Road, Wilmington. A viewing will take place at the church on Tuesday morning from 11:00 am to 12:30 pm. Burial will be in All Saints Cemetery, Wilmington.
