Eva St. Clair Douglas
Age 73, was carried home on the wings of angels from Glengary, WV, on Nov. 2, 2011. She died at home with family at her side after battling pancreatic cancer.
Eva was born in Jersey City, NJ, on March 4, 1938. She spent her life as a dedicated housewife who enjoyed gardening, crafts, cooking, bird watching, and traveling. Her family was her life, and she treasured moments spent with those she loved. She had several adopted family members, who she loved as if they were of her own blood. Eva and her husband of 56 years spent their retirement years together and were rarely apart.
She is survived by her husband, Joseph Lee Douglas. She is also survived by her four children, Susan Jones, Cynthia Kennedy, Richard Douglas, and Karen Douglas Brown; 12 grandchildren, Joseph and Richard Jones, Amanda, Rebecca, William, and Christine Kennedy, Kara, Krista, Jenna, and Richard Douglas, and Joshua and Kailey Brown; 5 great-grandchildren, Logan Ward, Jasmine Jones, Gage Jones, Amadeah Sazbo, and Nadia Barretto. In addition, Eva leaves behind extended family members Kellie Douglas, Alex Dilks, Deidre Reeves, David Barrett, Dawn, Felicia and Stephanie LeBre, Hector and Faustino Holguin, and Mark and Judy Brown. There are many other people Eva loved. Apologies from the family are extended to anyone who was forgotten.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend the service at Krienen-Griffith Funeral Home, 1400 Kirkwood Hwy., Elsmere, on Sun., Nov. 6, at 1:00 pm. Relatives and friends may call at the funeral home from 11:00 am to 1:00 pm. Interment at Glebe Cemetery, New Castle, DE.
