Florence G. Giafski
Age 92 of Wilmington, Delaware
Passed away peacefully on Tuesday, February 27, 2024.
Florence was born in Nanticoke, Pennsylvania and raised in Hobbie, Pennsylvania. She was the daughter of the late Kazimerz and Stella (Dembowski) Chrzanowski.
In 1950, Florence married Stanley Giafski. Together they moved to Wilmington to begin their life sharing almost 50 years raising their family with love.
She was a longtime member of St. Elizabeth Church and volunteered in many capacities in her younger years. In her free time, she loved reading, doing crossword puzzles, and she enjoyed reading the newspaper, taking pride in keeping up with current events. Most of all Florence loved her family. She was a devoted mother, grandmother, and great grandmother who would do anything for her family.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Stanley in 1998; by her sisters, Katherine Miliszauskas, Regina Mylet, Theresa Strzelecki and brother, John Chanoski.
Florence will be dearly missed by her daughters, Janet McVey (Terry) and Sandra Beall (John); her grandchildren, Kevin McVey, Erin Bennett (Brian), Shannon Beall; her great-granddaughter, Lizzy; and many nieces and nephews.
A viewing will be held for family at Krienen-Griffith Funeral Home, 1400 Kirkwood Hwy., Wilm., DE 19805, on Monday March 4 from 9:00 -10:00 am. Mass of Christian Burial will take place at 10:30 am at St. Elizabeth Church, 809 S. Broom St., Wilm., DE 19805. Interment at Cathedral Cemetery will follow.
