Florence Najarian Lenderman
Passed away on January 11, 2015.
Born in Philadelphia, PA, on December 27, 1916, Florence was the only child of Samuel and Mary Najarian. She was raised in Ridley Township, PA. The family moved to Wilmington, DE, when she was 18. She worked at various jobs: a dry cleaning plant, a dress factory, a union office, and a ladies garment company after her marriage to the love of her life, John F. Lenderman, who passed in 1978. Florence also worked at Kiddie World for several years. She then worked for the Delaware Division of Revenue seasonally for 34 years.
Florence enjoyed knitting, embroidery, ceramics, reading mystery novels, doing crossword puzzles, and watching her beloved Phillies. But, most of all, her love for her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchild surpassed all.
She is survived by her son, John F. Lenderman, and his wife, Herminia; her daughter, Susan Lenderman Hayes, and her husband, Robert. She is also survived by her grandchildren, Lauren Garcia, and her husband, Ernest, Katharine Hayes, and her companion, Jeffrey C. Hawkins, Mark R. Hayes, and his companion, Paige Orescan, Janice Lenderman, and her beloved "Tootsie"; her treasured great-granddaughter, Avery.
The family would like to thank the nurses and staff at Christiana Hospital and Seasons Hospice for their wonderful and compassionate care of our Mom and Mom-Mom.
Relatives and friends are invited to the Service at Krienen-Griffith Funeral Home, 1400 Kirkwood Highway, Elsmere, on Friday, January 16, at 1:00 pm. A viewing will take place at the funeral home on Friday, January 16, from 12:00-1:00 pm. Interment will be in Silverbrook Cemetery.
