"Franny"
Franny Renai, age 80, of Wilmington, DE passed away peacefully in her sleep on Wednesday, May 13, 2009 at The Franciscan Care Center at Brackenville in Hockessin.
Born November 16, 1928, Franny was one of five children born to the late Teresa (Halloran) and Joseph McNesby. Franny was a life long resident of Wilmington, having grown up in the Jackson Street area, where she developed friendships that she maintained throughout her life. She attended and graduated from St. Paul's School and a few years later married her "soul mate" Pete. A resident of Woodcrest for 56 years, Franny had a special relationship with her neighbors. She was well known for her spaghetti sauce and ice tea among family, friends, and neighbors. She had a fondness for the slots, especially enjoying her trips to Las Vegas. She was devoted to her family especially doting on her grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Franny was preceded in death by the love of her life, Pete Renai in 1982 and her daughter Sandy Lee in 2007. She was also preceded in death by her brother Joe McNesby and her sisters, Teresa McNesby, Alice Skibicki, and Dorothy Feola.
Franny is survived by her three children; daughters, Terry and her husband Tom Reilly, and Gerilynn (Brainard) and her husband Dicky Money; and her son, Pete and his wife Mary Beth Renai; her grandchildren, Michael and Neil Reilly, TJ and Jill Brainard, and Allie and Pete Renai; and her great-grandchildren, Lexi, Lily, Jack, and Julia Reilly.
Relatives and Friends are invited to the Mass of Christian Burial at St. Anthony of Padua R. C. C., 901 North DuPont St., Wilmington, on Monday, May 18, 2009 at 11:00 a.m. Friends may call at Krienen-Griffith Funeral Home, 1400 Kirkwood Highway, Elsmere, on Sunday, May 17, 2009 from 7:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. Interment in All Saints Cemetery, Wilmington.
