Francis F. McNally

Age 80 of New Castle

Passed away peacefully on January 24, 2025.

Franny was the youngest of five children born to the late King and Margaret (Cooper) McNally of New Castle. He was a proud, lifelong New Castilian and loved his hometown. He was a dedicated member of IBEW Local 313 retiring after many years of faithful service.

Franny was an avid outdoorsman, enjoying hunting and trapping most of his life; he was always at peace in the marsh. He was also a fan of horse racing and could often be found betting the ponies at Delaware Park or inside the casino playing Blackjack with family and friends. Franny loved to host the family Christmas party every year, seeing the happiness his family shared together brought him tremendous joy.

He was preceded in death by his son, Francis "Mac" McNally; his sister, Peggy; and his brothers, Jack, Mort, and Bobby.

Franny will be dearly missed by his cherished wife of nearly 60 years, Frances (Moore) McNally, and his grandchildren, Ashley and Steven. He is also survived by his brother-in-law, Kenny Shaw of Clayton, DE. He was also deeply loved and will be sorely missed by his extended family.

Relatives and friends are invited to at the Mass of Christian Burial at St. Peter the Apostle R.C. Church, 521 Harmony St., New Castle, DE 19720, on Thurs, Jan 30 at 11:00am. Friends may call at the church from 10:00 am – 11:00am. Burial will take place in the adjoining cemetery.
