Francis L. Pollard
Age 90, of New Castle DE, died on Nov. 1, 2013.
Francis was born in Wilmington, DE to Nancy D. and Edward G. Pollard. At age 13, he moved with his family to New Castle, DE, where he was raised. He graduated from William Penn High School, Beacom Business School (now Goldey-Beacom), Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania, and served in the United States Navy during World War II. Francis retired from Christiana Care.
He was a member of Immanuel Episcopal Church, where he had formerly served on the Vestry. Francis was Vice-President of the former New Castle Building and Loan and a former member of the New Castle Planning Commission. He was a life member of the Hospital Financial Management Association, Philadelphia Chapter.
Francis was preceded in death by his wife, Eugenia Chase Pollard. He is survived by his daughters, Alice and Christine, and Alice's husband, Howard Roth.
Relatives and friends are invited to the Service at Immanuel Episcopal on the Green, New Castle, DE on Thurs., Nov. 7 at 11:00 am. Interment will be private.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests contributions to The Arc of Delaware, 2 S. Augustine Street, Suite B, Wilmington, DE 19805, or Delaware Hospice, 16 Polly Drummond Center, Newark, DE 19711.
